About Our Lifesaving Work
About Us
Palm Valley Animal Center (PVAC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal welfare organization that provides services to 8 municipalities in Hidalgo County.
PVAC accepts stray and owned companion animals from the 8 municipalities we service regardless of age, health, or breed, making us one of the largest intake facilities in the nation.
Our goal is to place all adoptable animals in forever homes through adoptions, foster care or rescue partner groups. PVAC has numerous programs and partnerships designed to help pets in the shelter, in the community and in your home.
Our Mission
Palm Valley Animal Center cares for homeless companion animals and enhances the relationship between animals and people through adoptions, education and community outreach.
